The Netherton Hungry Horse in Litherland threw its doors open this week and kicked off the new offering in style, showcasing the pub’s brand-new look following a six-figure makeover.
The popular venue has been significantly refurbished throughout and boasts an impressive bar area, together with improved viewing facilities to host the latest sporting events.
The revamped venue on Church Road reopened on Wednesday 8 August where the team welcomed The Lord Mayor Of Liverpool, Councillor Christine Banks to officially reopen the refurbished pub. Her visit kicked off the celebrations which will continue throughout the weekend, with a wide selection of tunes from local band, The Sound, on Friday 10 August and live music from The Ultimate Meatloaf tribute, Pete Young, on Saturday 11 August. The team will then host a Phone Quiz on Sunday 12 August to round off the celebrations.
The place to be for big games, the Netherton Hungry Horse is equipped with SKY, allowing sports fans to watch their heroes on multiple screens and with high quality sound throughout the venue. The Netherton is set for a big weekend with the Wolves vs. Everton kicking off at 5:30pm on Saturday, and Liverpool vs. West Ham at 1:30pm on Sunday.
The bar area has also been enhanced with the addition of contemporary tiling and an improved drinks range, with additional cask ales now available as well as great existing drink offers such as two bottles for £5 and selected drinks for as little as £2.29 every day. Guests can also enjoy their drinks in the extended beer garden which features additional seating and new outdoor lighting.
In addition to an extensive drinks collection, the new-look pub will continue to offer a range of great value food and special deals for locals to enjoy throughout the week – including two meals for £8.49* Monday to Friday, curry and a drink for £5.50 on Wednesdays, plus add a drink to any burger or selected grill for £1 Monday-Friday.
Gary Butcher, co-general manager at the Netherton Hungry Horse said: “We’ve had a fantastic time celebrating the reopening and our Litherland neighbours really came out to support us. Our guests are at the heart of what we do, so it was great to be able to mark the reopening with the local community.
Co-general, manager Maria Martin-Butcher, added: “It was a pleasure to welcome The Lord Mayor Of Liverpool, Councillor Christine Banks to cut the ribbon and officially reopen the Netherton. We’ve already had great feedback on the revamped bar and the sports viewing areas, with many guests planning their next visit around the upcoming matches.
“The team and I can’t wait to welcome new and returning visitors to the Netherton Hungry Horse very soon!”
